Congress ignored tribal interests while in government, says Union Minister Arjun Munda

"Congress ran the government for a long time in the country and also various states for a long time. If we talk about Madhya Pradesh, here the tribal population is the highest in the country. But whenever Congress was in power in this state, it ignored the tribal interests and attacked their rights. As a result, not only the tribal community but also the public started rejecting them from time to time. Today we see how the people of the country have rejected the Congress after ruling for a long time," he added.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 25 (ANI): Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda has slammed the Congress party saying Madhya Pradesh has the highest tribal population in the country but Congress ignored the tribal interests while in government.
Union Minister Munda made the remark while addressing a press conference in the state capital Bhopal on Wednesday.
"Madhya Pradesh is a state in the country with a historical background. Today, elections are scheduled to be held in the state and all political parties have the right to express their views on a party basis. But I would definitely say that in the journey of 75 years of independence, how the party which ruled the country for a long period (referring to Congress) treated the tribals and how they neglected them," he said.
The Union Minister further said how they (Congress) tried to do politics only to remain in power.
"Congress ran the government for a long time in the country and also various states for a long time. If we talk about Madhya Pradesh, the tribal population is the highest in the country. But whenever Congress was in power in this state, it ignored the tribal interests and attacked their rights. As a result, not only the tribal community but also the public started rejecting them from time to time. Today we see how the people of the country have rejected the Congress who ruled for a long time," he added.
Meanwhile, the minister also took a jibe at the Congress' manifesto and said that the Congress mentioned a lot in its manifesto but it was just an illusion and deception. They cheated like this before also, made promises but never implemented them.
The Union Minister also said, "15th November was announced as 'Janjatiya Gaurav Divas' by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda also falls on the same day. We are ensuring that the country moves forward ensuring the development of Adivasis in all regions of the country."
