"Congress, Hemant Soren are hungry for power...": MP CM Yadav

Garhwa (Jharkhand) [India], November 11 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has taken a dig at the Congress party and Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren stating it is unfortunate to say that the latter are hungry for power and they never spoke about Birsa Muda who made such a great contribution.
CM Yadav remarked while addressing a public gathering in Chinia, Jharkhand's Garhwa district on Monday as a part of the election campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"Even during the difficult times of British rule, Birsa Munda did a great work from the land of Jharkhand but it is unfortunate to say that Congress and Hemant Soren are hungry for power; they never talked about Birsa Munda's contribution. Congress never thought for him," the CM said.
He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the PM gave a clarion call to celebrate Birsa Munda Jayanti across the country on November 15.
The chief minister further highlighted that the upcoming state assembly poll was not just an election but a religious battle.
"This election is not just an election, it is a religious battle. We have to fight this battle. The people of Jharkhand should decide that this is the time for Sanatan Dharma, the right time and a time of a challenge. The biggest challenge is that when you look around your own house, Bangladeshi intruders have come around your lands. Who is supporting these Bangladeshi intruders? The Congress party and Soren are silent on the issue because of hunger for votes," CM Yadav alleged.
The 81-member Jharkhand Assembly will go to polls in two phases on November 13 and 20, with vote counting scheduled for November 23. A total of 2.6 crore voters are eligible to participate, including 1.31 crore male and 1.29 crore female voters, as well as 11.84 lakh first-time voters and 66.84 lakh young voters.
In the 2019 assembly elections, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) won 30 seats, the BJP won 25 seats, and the Congress won 16 seats. In 2014, the BJP won 37 seats, JMM won 19 seats, and Congress won just 6 seats. (ANI)
