"Congress has stooped to lowest level of politics": Gujarat CM Patel condemns "abuses" hurled at PM Modi in Bihar

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], August 29 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has condemned the alleged abuses hurled at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother during a Rahul Gandhi-led 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in poll-bound Bihar's Darbhanga, saying that the remarks are an "attack on the dignity of every mother and every child".
"This incident makes it clear to what extent the Congress Party, especially under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, has stooped to the lowest level of politics. Born into a simple, poor family, the mother endured a tough lifelong struggle and instilled values in her son, giving the country a capable, patriotic, and dedicated leader like the respected PM Modi," the Gujarat CM said on Thursday.
Claiming that the people of the country "will never forgive this despicable mentality," he added, "This language is an attack on the dignity of every mother and every child. The people of the country will never forgive this despicable mentality of the leaders of the 'INDI Alliance'."
The reactions come amid a purported viral video of a person hurling abuses at PM Modi and his mother while getting on the stage of Voter Adhikar Yatra in Darbhanga.
Earlier, Odisha CM Charan Mohan Majhi said that the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and the Congress have "committed a sin" by using "derogatory" remarks for the late mother of PM Modi.
Speaking to ANI, Odisha CM said the country will not tolerate such remarks and will definitely give a befitting reply to Congress.
"I condemn this. This has never happened in the country's 78-year political history, not even in the case of top leaders. This shows the ideology of Rahul Gandhi and his allied parties. The Gandhi family has been in power or at the centre of power for 50 years, and this incident has revealed their frustration at being out of power for so long," he said.
The BJP has also accused Congress of "lowering" the political standards by making such remarks during a rally in Bihar's Darbhanga and demanded an apology from both Rahul and Tejashwi. However, Congress has said that the BJP is raising "irrelevant" issues.
The 16-day 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar, involving Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, aims to raise awareness about alleged irregularities in the voter list, which opposition leaders have termed a case of 'vote chori' (vote theft). (ANI)
