Mandya (Karnataka) [India], August 6 (ANI): Reacting to the death of a Yadgir police sub-inspector, Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra launched a scathing attack against the Karnataka government led by the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah saying that the state government has been indulging in the corruption and that the Congress party has cheated the Dalit community.
"CM Siddaramaiah led Congress government has been indulged in corruption. The CM is involved in the MUDA scam... The Congress leaders and the Congress party have cheated the Dalit community...The Home Minister should resign, and the CM should take moral responsibility and resign," said Vijayendra.
During the 'Mysuru chalo' padayatra, BJP leader Dr CN Ashwath Narayan called the Chief Minister "corrupt" and that people wanted him to quit.
"We are getting a very good response...people want this corrupt CM to quit...people want accountability for the corruption he has done in the state...we organised 'Mysuru chalo' padayatra to sensitize Congress that they can't get away with corruption...if Congress has got any respect for Constitution and democracy, they should get the resignation of their CM," said Narayan.
Earlier on Monday, Union MoS Shobha Karandlaje wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and urged for a CBI investigation into the death of a police sub-inspector of Yadgiri in Karnataka.
Notably, the deceased police sub-inspector has been identified as Parashuram, who was serving at Yadgiri Police Station, Karnataka.
As per the letter, Parashuram faced undue harassment and he was relentlessly tortured and traumatized allegedly by the local Congress MLA, Chenna Reddy Patil Thunnur, and his son, Sunny Gowda alias Pampanagouda, which ultimately led to his unfortunate death. It is also alleged that they demanded a bribe of Rs 30 lakhs to allow him to continue in his current posting.
It is also alleged that, despite multiple complaints by the wife of the deceased sub-inspector, the Superintendent of Police delayed registering the FIR. (ANI)
