"Congress has always worked for dividing the country": Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], November 13 (ANI): Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Haryana BJP in-charge Satish Punia has alleged that the Congress has always worked to divide the country.
"Congress has always done the politics of division. They have divided the nation based on religion, wealth, caste and language. Now, they want to do politics by dividing the people on the basis of the colour of their clothes," the union minister said on Tuesday.
Both the union minister and Satish Poonia also visited Sriganganagar, and expressed condolences by attending a meeting in memory of former minister Gurjant Singh Brar.
Further criticising Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, the Union minister said, "'Bhagwa' (Saffron) has been our symbol of respect. It is not a matter of politics for us but a matter of faith."
On the 'Bategenge toh Katenge' remark, Shekhawat said, "It has been written in our tales that unity is the strength. Till now whenever Hindus have been divided, that part has been separated from the country. From Persia in Central Asia to Afghanistan and Nepal, the way it has been disintegrated from India is due to the division. It is written in the history books."
BJP leader Satish Punia also expressed confidence in the party winning the assembly elections in Jharkhand and also the bypolls which will be held on November 13.
Punia said, "I am not an astrologer, but in the bye-elections, the BJP will get a huge majority on most of the seats."
The bye-elections for different assembly constituencies across the country and the Lok Sabha Wayanad seat are going to be held on November 13.
On Sunday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, while speaking at an election rally in Maharashtra, took a jibe at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath without taking his name and said that many of the leaders live in the guise of sadhus and have now become politicians and some have even become chief minister as well.
Speaking at the Samvidhan Bachao Sammelan', the Congress President also slammed Adityanath for his recent 'batoge toh katogey' (If we divide, we will be cut), a slogan calling for Hindu unity, and accused him (Yogi) of spreading hatred.
"Many leaders live in the guise of sadhus and have now become politicians. Some have even become chief ministers. They wear 'gerua' clothes and have no hair on their heads...I would say to the BJP, either wear white clothes or if you are a sanyasi wear 'gerua' clothes, then get out of politics. On the one hand, you wear 'gerua' clothes and on the other hand, you say 'batoge toh katogey'...They are spreading hatred among the people and trying to divide them...," Kharge said. (ANI)
