"Congress done injustice with OBCs, used them for vote bank politics": Haryana CM slams Nana Patole's "dog" jibe at BJP

The controversy erupted when Patole, campaigning for the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in Akola on Monday, said "I want to ask, will the OBC people of Akola district vote for the BJP, who are calling you dogs? It is time to make the BJP a dog now; they have become so arrogant."

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 12 (ANI): Slamming Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole for asking OBC community to "make the BJP a dog", Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday said that the Congress has only done injustice with the OBCs and used them for vote bank politics.
Saini emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown unprecedented respect to OBCs, citing the establishment of the OBC Commission and its constitutional status.
"Congress has only done injustice with the OBCs. They used the OBCs for vote bank politics. No one in history has ever given such respect to OBCs the way Modi ji has. Maybe Nana Patole doesn't know about the Kaka Kalelkar report. He should see (former PM) Rajiv Gandhi's debate in Lok Sabha where he spoke on why OBCs should not get constitutional rights and status," he said.
"In 2018, Modi ji brought a bill to give constitutional status to OBC. The bill was passed in Lok Sabha but in Rajya Sabha, we didn't have the mandate. Nana Patole should tell what was Congress' stand on this...PM Modi made OBC Commission and gave it constitutional status," the Haryana CM added.
Speaking on Congress alleging the BJP of vote polarisation, CM Saini said that we will remain safe only when we stay united.
"Congress has done the work of dividing...In 1947, when the country got freedom, who did the work of dividing?... Only when we stay united, we will remain safe, and the country will new heights of development," he said.
Further exuding confidence in winning the Maharashtra Assembly polls with a thumping majority, the Haryana CM said, "This time Jalebi will be distributed in Maharashtra also...With a big mandate, NDA is going to form the govt for the second time in the state."
"Congress along with the people of INDI Alliance parties decide which lies need to be told today and then take it forward. But now, Congress has been exposed and rejected by the people. On 20th November, in Maharashtra also, people will reject them. NDA will form government in Maharashtra," he added.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with vote counting on November 23. The opposition MVA coalition, comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), aims to challenge the Mahayuti alliance, which includes the BJP, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
