Kaithal (Haryana) [India], October 8 (ANI): As India National Congress trails behind the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Haryana Assembly Election, MP Randeep Surjewala said that the party has called for a meeting of the newly elected MLAs tomorrow.
Randeep Surhjewala was addressing the public in Haryana's Kaithal Assembly constituency, from where his son Aditya Surjewala secured victory by 8124 votes defeating BJP's Leela Ram.
"Congress has called for a party's MLAs meeting for tomorrow. Congress president and senior leadership has called me today to discuss on some things." Randeep Surjewala said.
Randeep Surjewala celebrated the victory of Aditya Surjewala from the Kaithal Assembly Constituency and launched a scathing attack on BJP's Leela Ram.
"Gundo ko jeet nahi mila karti, this city proved that. Who used to say that he's the biggest goon of Haryana? I had said to them, in democracy 'vote ki chot sabko barabar kar deti hai'. In Kaithal today decency has won, brotherhood, love and your blessings have won. There no place for hate, no place for discrimination based on caste in Kaithal. BJP tried to brake the brotherhood." Surjewala said.
Aditya Surjewala, who will now be the third generation from his family to represent Kaithal, defeated Leela Ram by 8124 votes
Earlier, Aditya Surjewala emphasized his commitment to combating hooliganism and hatred and urged people to vote for Congress.
"I have wished for prosperity for the people of Kaithal. The development work that has stopped in the assembly seat, I wish to divert it into a path of progress. So many students are moving out of Kaithal for their future, I wish to change this. Our fight is against hooliganism, hatred that has been spread here. I am contesting elections for the development of Kaithal and we will bring development here. My family has been associated with Kaithal for more than 20 years. I have a strong bond here. I will appeal to people to vote for Congress for justice and development," he said.
He further said, "In BJP, they have to search for CM candidate but in Congress, there are already many contestants. The leaders are decided by their hard work in Congress. In the BJP, the CM candidate is like a puppet of PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah."
The is Congress is set finish a distant second in the assembly polls and is slated to win 37 seats with BJP poised to win 48 seats in the 90-member Haryana assembly. (ANI)
