Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], August 18 (ANI): Former Rajya Sabha MP and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Syed Zafar Islam alleged that the Congress, the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) have formed an "unholy alliance" which have been "proven" in Parliament.
"Congress, AIMIM and BRS have formed an unholy alliance. They have also proven it in Parliament. We have been saying it forever and it was proven in Parliament," Syed Zafar Islam said.
"These three parties have an understanding, a post-poll alliance and a pre-poll alliance. All these understandings will be exposed in the coming days," the former Rajya Sabha MP added.
Reacting to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's remarks on the renaming of the Nehru Memorial Museum, Syed Zafar Islam said that having only one family name everywhere for years seems to be an "exclusive arrangement".
"There has been only one family name everywhere for years, is it an exclusive arrangement? there are other PMs as well and it is a constitutional position. Since there were other Prime Ministers as well, they should also be given respect," Syed Zafar Islam said.
Hitting out at the Nehru-Gandhi family, he questioned, "There were Congress PMs as well. Are they pained to see their own PMs getting respect? Should only one family be given respect?"
Stressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "zero tolerance" on corruption, Syed Zafar Islam hit out at prominent opposition leaders who were recently probed by central investigation agencies.
The CBI claimed that Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia played the most significant and crucial part in the criminal conspiracy and he was involved in both the creation and implementation of the capital's now-scrapped liquor sales policy.
"The PM's policy is zero tolerance on corruption. People like Manish Sisodia used to claim that they cannot go to jail. Whoever has committed a crime, be it Kavitha or others, won't be spared," the former Rajya Sabha MP said.
It is pertinent to mention that the Enforcement Directorate had named K Kavitha in the chargesheet in connection with the excise policy case, accusing her of holding a 65 per cent stake in a liquor company.(ANI)
