Congress backs Mayawati on diatribe against BJP's 'Hindutva' agenda
Kolkata [India], Dec. 7 (ANI): Supporting Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati's remarks that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are trying to establish Hindutva, the Congress Party said Wednesday that the RSS has always espoused a hideous agenda. "The BJP- RSS agenda has been to foist a particular kind of ideology which is completely unsuitable for India and which doesn't go out well with our democratic traditions, pluralism. And I support this criticism of BJP-RSS," Congress leader Om Prakash Mishra told ANI. "The RSS has often said that it is not associated with BJP but now as BJP has clear majority both BJP and RSS accepting their roles in each other's affairs as legitimate," he added. Addressing a rally in Lucknow, Mayawati said that Muslims have got their rights because of Ambedkar who carved out a secular Constitution which was, however, "not liked" by BJP and RSS. (ANI)
