Congress attacks MP PWD minister for saying, "Jab tak sadkein rahengi, tab tak gaddhhe hote rahenge"

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 10 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) minister Rakesh Singh has hit the headlines over his recent remark about potholes on roads saying as long as there will be roads, there will continue to be potholes.
Minister Singh made the remark while talking to reporters in the state capital Bhopal on Wednesday evening.
"Jab tak sadkein rahengi, tab tak gaddhhe hote rahenge (as long as there will be roads, there will continue to be potholes). I mean to say that if a road has completed 4 years, with its durability being 5 years, maybe potholes will form after 4 years. But if there is a road that should not have deteriorated for 4 years but is now riddled with potholes within 6 months, then it is wrong. Action should certainly be taken. But I don't think there is any road in the world on which potholes do not appear. No such technique has come to notice of PWD," Minister Singh said.
The minister further said, "The roads which were deteriorated before its durability period, we will get it repaired and take necessary actions. But sometimes roads are constructed for immediate use purposes so it is not durable for a longer time. So, we have to check which category roads are, though our effort is that roads should not be deteriorated."
On the other hand, reacting to the Minister's remark, Congress spokesperson Anand Jat said that the minister should avoid making irresponsible statements and focus on repairing the roads, adding that if can't do so then he should resign.
"There is a commission raj across Madhya Pradesh. The way the minister is saying there will be potholes on the roads, it shows that a tradition of BJP's welfare thriving through commissions has begun in his PWD department. A bridge being constructed with around 90 degree turn and minister's remark about potholes shows that the BJP runs on a model in which BJP leaders are heroes of taking credits while their answerability is zero. I think the minister should avoid irresponsible statements and focus on repairing the roads. If the minister can't do so then he should resign," Anand Jat said. (ANI)
