Cong ruled country for 60 years but did nothing for construction of Ram Mandir: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

"When PM Modi came to power, we had promised that we would build Ram Mandir. And now Ram Mandir is under construction and in January we can all go and seek blessings from Lord Ram. Congress ruled in the country for 60 years but they did not do any work for the construction of the Ram Mandir. They always worshiped Babar, they are supporters of Babar and not of Lord Ram," said Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Kawardha (Chhattisgarh) [India], October 18 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Congress had been in power in the country for 60 years, yet they did not contribute to the construction of the Ram Mandir, instead they showed support for Babar.
On Wednesday BJP leader and Assam's CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Congress and alleged Congress did not do anything for Ram Mandir construction in Ayodhya and labelled the party as "worshippers of Babar."
Sarma was addressing a rally in Kawardha when he came down heavily and also listed the promises fulfilled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Every promise made to the public was fulfilled by PM Modi from the construction of Ram Mandir to abrogation of Article 370," Sarma added.
"Is killing Hindus your concept of secularism? This country belongs to Hindus and it will continue to be of Hindus. Do not teach us the language of secularism," Sarma said.

Building a masjid for Babar after demolishing the Ram temple is not called secularism, he claimed.
Chhattisgarh will go to polls in two phases- November 7 and November 17. The first phase of polling for 20 seats in Chhattisgarh will be held on November 7, and the remaining 70 seats in Chhattisgarh will go to polls on November 17.
Earlier in the 2018 assembly polls, the Congress witnessed a landslide victory winning 68 seats out of 90 of those against the then ruling-BJP, which acquired 15 seats. The BJP aims to wrest power from the Congress-ruled state which is expected to set the tone for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls. (ANI)
