Cong., NC leaders raise 'anti-India' slogans in Anantnag
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Apr. 11 (ANI): The National Conference (NC) and Congress members were seen raising 'Indian democracy murdabaad' slogan in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district on Tuesday. The leaders of the prime Opposition parties in J-K could be heard shouting these slogans over the deferment of Anantnag by-polls to May 25. In wake of the prevailing tension in the Kashmir Valley and the very poor poll percentage in Srinagar by-polls held on April 9, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday deferred the Anantnag by-polls till May 25. A school designated as polling station for Anantnag by-polls was set on fire in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. A Panchayat Ghar was also set ablaze in Pulwama district. A Government Middle school, in Shopian's Padarpora was set ablaze by unidentified people and on Sunday, the Government High School in Pulwama was razed to the ground in a similar manner. (ANI)
