Cong merely coined 'Garibi Hatao' slogan but never worked on it: Amit Shah

Rajgarh (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 2 (ANI): BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday alleged that Congress had only coined the slogan 'Garibi Hatao', but had not done anything to remove poverty from the country.

Rajgarh (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 2 (ANI): BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday alleged that Congress had only coined the slogan 'Garibi Hatao', but had not done anything to remove poverty from the country.
Addressing an election rally here, Shah said, "Congress never cared about poor people, they only gave the slogan of Garibi Hatao but did nothing for it."
"Shivraj Singh Chohan's government in MP had uplifted the state from poverty. But unfortunately, now Congress government here is taking it back to poverty," he said.
The BJP president said, "Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at Centre, we have provided gas connections to 7 crore houses, 8 crore houses got toilets and 50 crore poor people will get Rs 5 lakh Insurance under Ayushman Bharat scheme."
"After four months of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, about 24 lakh poor people have had surgeries done free of cost. Till 2022 every house will have a gas connection, electricity, drinking water and toilet," added the BJP president. (ANI)
