Chhindwara (Madhya Pradesh) [India], Apr 27 (ANI): Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday accused the Congress party of promoting dynasty politics by fielding Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath's son Nakul Nath from Chhindwara parliamentary constituency.
“The Congress has not found any candidate born in Chhindwara. Since 1980's ‘Bade Nath’ had been sitting here. But when he went to the State Assembly, people became hopeful that someone else will get the opportunity. Now, ‘Bade Nath’ has brought ‘Chhote Nath,” said Chouhan.
Chouhan referred to Chief Minister Kamal Nath as ‘Bade Nath’ and his son Nakul Nath as ‘Chhote Nath’.
Chouhan on Thursday also wrote a letter to the Election Commission urging it to take action against Chhindwara district collector for allegedly stopping him from conducting a campaign in the region.
Guna and Chhindwara were the only seats won by the Congress party in the state in 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
The election in Chhindwara will take place on April 29 and the counting of the votes will take place on May 23. The key candidates are Nakul Kamal Nath (Congress), Nathansaha Kawreti (BJP) and Gyaneshwar Gajbhiye
(BSP). (ANI)
