Cong, BJP back UP Govt.'s decision to replace 'Samajwadi' with 'Mukhyamantri'
Mumbai/Patna [India], Apr. 8 (ANI): Backing Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led government's decision to replace 'Samajwadi' with 'Mukhyamantri' in state schemes' names, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress echoed similar views and said it is a right step as it does not focus on any individual or family. "By just keeping the name 'Samjawadi' schemes, did they change the society. These were the attempts to only get political mileage without doing work. Changing the name of schemes is probably the right step because after all it does not focus on any individual and family," BJP leader Nalin Kohli told ANI. Resonating the same, Congress leader Ashok Choudhary said it was not right to associate name of any political party with any government schemes and programmes. "This is obvious that the new government will change the name of schemes carrying any particular party's name," he added. The BJP Government yesterday ordered to drop the prefix 'Samajwadi' from all schemes and replaced with 'Mukhyamantri' in case of state programmes, and their original name in case of centrally funded programmes. During a review meeting, headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, at the chief minister's office in Lucknow, department heads were asked to identify such schemes under them before the second cabinet meeting, slated on April 11.
