Sirsa (Haryana) [India], September 28 (ANI): Azad Samaj Party's National President, and Lok Sabha MP, Chandrashekhar Azad, on Saturday exuded confidence in the victory of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) and ASP alliance in the Haryana Assembly elections and said that a new option will be created in the state.
Azad further said that the youths, who are upset with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress, feel that their issues will be discussed.
"This alliance has created a good atmosphere of brotherhood. The youth who are upset with the BJP and Congress have a feeling that now the issues of the youth will be discussed... I am confident that we will win our seats and a new option will be created in Haryana," he said.
"We will also conduct a caste census and release its data. Along with this, we will also work to deliver our share in the budget to our people, whether it is through a digital library or by building a sports college in the village or of other ways," the ASP leader added.
Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) has joined hands with Dushyant Chautala-led Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) for the Haryana polls.
Earlier, targeting the BJP and previous governments that ruled the state over civic conditions in the cities, Chandrashekhar Azad, said on Thursday that the situation is "so bad" in Ambala that if it rains continuously, the people won't be able to venture out.
"After seeing the whole Ambala today, I feel ashamed of the government that has been in power for the last 10 years, I feel ashamed of the previous governments as well. It looks like we are roaming in a city of water, the situation is that bad, though it rained only for a few hours. If it rains continuously, the people won't be able to venture out...time has come to deliver justice to these people," he said.
He expressed confidence that Parul Nagpal, who is the alliance candidate for the seat, will win in the Haryana assembly polls.
Various political parties have stepped up campaigning for the assembly polls slated to take place on October 5.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday made a strong attack on Congress in poll-bound Haryana, accusing it of speaking "lies" to people, corruption and "betrayal" of farmers, and said the BJP government in the state has worked for all sections of society.
The Prime Minister, who addressed a rally in Hisar, also alleged that Congress is suffering from infighting and pointed to chief ministerial ambition of its leaders.
"In Congress-ruled states, only one or two crops are purchased on MSP. Can farmers trust such deceitful Congress. Haryana has faith only on BJP," he said.
Haryana will go to the polls on October 5 to elect a 90-member state legislative assembly to form its next government. Votes will be counted on October 8.
In 2019, the BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 40 seats. Congress won 30 seats. (ANI)
