Complaint against Yeddyurappa for kidnapping Congress MLAs
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], Feb 8 (ANI): A complaint was filed on Friday against former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, Malleshwaram BJP MLA Ashwath Narayan and others for allegedly kidnapping Congress MLAs who were missing during the state legislative assembly session.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], Feb 8 (ANI): A complaint was filed on Friday against former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, Malleshwaram BJP MLA Ashwath Narayan and others for allegedly kidnapping Congress MLAs who were missing during the state legislative assembly session.
The complaint filed by advocate RLN Murthy stated that BJP committed an offence of kidnapping and wrongful confinement of some members of the legislative assembly.
Furthermore, the complaint claimed that BJP was not allowing Congress MLAs to participate in the Budget session 2019.
Hours ahead of the state budget today, Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy made a last-minute announcement where he removed dissenting Congress MLA Dr Umesh Jadhav from the post of the chairman of the Warehouse Corporation and appointed Congress MLA Pratap Gowda Patil to the position.
Making Karnataka’s fluid political situation more slippery, seven MLAs of Congress and three of BJP on Thursday abstained from the Assembly’s Budget Session, fuelling speculation of defection.
To tame the tide, Congress had called its legislature party (CLP) meeting on Friday.
In the 224-member Karnataka Legislative Assembly, the BJP has 104 seats, while the JD(S) has 37 seats and Congress 80 seats. Ever since the Congress-JD(S) jointly formed the government in Karnataka in May last year, there have been murmurs of resentment among them. (ANI)
