Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 4 (ANI): Maharashtra Minister and Shiv Sena candidate from Ratnagiri constituency, Uday Samant on Monday alleged that there is competition among the allies of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) regarding who will be the next Chief Minister.
The Maharashtra minister emphasised the solid establishment of the Mahayuti alliance.
"I am confident of my win as my winning margin has always increased and I'll win by a margin of over 1.25 lakhs this time. Our Mahayuti is concrete, we are working under the leadership of Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar. In Maha Vikas Aghadi, there is a competition that who will become the Chief Minister. But, Mahayuti is going to come to power and the CM will be from Mahayuti," he said.
Commenting on the Election Commission's (EC) decision to transfer the Maharashtra Director General of Police (DGP) Rashmi Shukla, after acting on the complaints from the Indian National Congress (INC) and other parties, Uday Samant said, "Congress and Maha Vikas Aghadi, once they get to know that what is going to happen tomorrow, they give a letter for the same on that day only to take credit. To set a fake narrative has become a business for them."
He further said that the Mahayuti-led NDA government will decide the next CM following discussions after the election results are announced.
"Being a Shiv Sainik, I would want my leader Eknath Shinde to become the CM again, but all three leaders (Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar) are mature leaders. After the results, they all will sit together under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to decide who will be the next CM."
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set for November 23.
In the 2019 assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena secured 56, and the Congress claimed 44. In 2014, the BJP won 122 seats, the Shiv Sena 63, and the Congress 42. (ANI)
