Nizamabad (Telangana) [India], November 15 (ANI): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao came up with a prediction while addressing a public rally in Nizamabad on Wednesday and said a coalition government will be formed at the Centre post-2024 Lok Sabha election.
Rao claimed that there would be an amalgamation of regional parties and not national parties in the formation of central government.
"You (people) have to listen carefully. In the upcoming days, after 2024, there will be a coalition government formed, not a single-party governance. When we will win across all MP seats, then we can show our power in Delhi. There will be an amalgamation of regional parties and not national parties. I want you to take note of the same," said K Chandrashekar Rao.
Rao also alleged Congress of using people especially Muslims as vote banks and questioned Congress over Babri Masjid's demolition.
"Congress used you (people) as a vote bank. Now also Congress does drama, they say they will shut down 'Nafrat ka Dukaan'. I want to ask; by whose hands did Babri Masjid's destruction happen? Who made it happen? Today, they(Congress) will say nice things but if they're secular they should stay like that forever," said KCR.
Rao further claimed that since he took over in government in 2014 no communal rites have taken place in the state and said, "Telangana would remain secular as long as KCR is alive."
"Nobody can separate. We will work together. Muslims would work for Hindus and Hindus would work for Muslims. We will take forward our state like two brothers," he added.
The state is set to witness a triangular contest among the BJP, BRS, and Congress. In the previous Assembly election in 2018, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), previously known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), won 88 of the 119 seats, hogging 47.4 per cent of the total vote share. The Congress came in a distant second with just 19 seats.
Telangana is scheduled to go to assembly elections on November 30 and the counting of votes, along with those of four other poll-bound states, has been scheduled for December 3. (ANI)
