Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], December 14 (ANI): BJP state president VD Sharma on Thursday praised Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, claiming that he fulfilled the guarantees of Prime Minister Narendra Modi after being sworn into office.
Addressing a press conference in the state capital, Bhopal, on Thursday, the BJP state chief conveyed his greetings and good wishes to the CM and his deputies.
"As PM Modi put it, his words are a guarantee that all the guarantees would be fulfilled. And, true to his word, CM Mohan Yadav fulfilled the guarantees of PM Modi immediately after taking oath of office. He decided to raise the wage of Tendu Patta collectors from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4000 for every sack. He also ordered a crackdown on habitual criminals," Sharma said.
"The BJP fought to end the reign of goons and dacoits in the state and secure the lives of citizens. Now CM Yadav has taken a historic decision to ban the unregulated use of loudspeakers in the state," the BJP state chief added.
While also lauding the decision to ban the sale of meat in the open without a licence, he said the 'historic' decisions taken for farmers, the general public and all sections of society at the first cabinet meeting on Wednesday evening.
"'Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra' in the state is going to start on December 16 and will cover all gram panchayats and urban bodies. The work of providing benefits of schemes to people and making them aware of them will be accomplished through this yatra," he added.
On the Congress questioning the decision to regulate the use of loudspeakers at religious places, Sharma said, "Congress practices the politics of appeasement."
Taking a further swipe at the grand old party over its rout in the Assembly polls, the BJP state chief said, "They fell flat on their faces in the elections. It doesn't matter now who they pick as the leader of the Opposition."
On Congress MLA Arif Masood's remark denouncing the state's curbs on the use of loudspeakers, Sharma said, "Masood is known to resort to hooliganism. We'll put him at rest."
Responding to the curbs on the unregulated use of loudspeakers at religious sites and other public places, Masood told ANI that the CM should have spoken instead on distressed farmers and the unemployed youth of the state.
"This decision is neither new nor unpredictable. However, it would have been better had they taken decisions on distressed farmers and jobless youth. We would have welcomed it," Masood said. (ANI)
