Patna (Bihar) [India], March 7 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday reached Gardanibagh in Patna to extend his support to the protestors, pressing on their distinct demands. He said their issues would be raised in the ongoing budget session.
Accusing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of being in an "unconscious state," Yadav said while addressing the protestors that unless this government remains "you will not get your right".
"I assure those who are protesting that we will raise your issues in the House. The government...the CM is 'unconscious'. He will not be able to name his departments. This is the truth. The only solution is to change the government. You will not get your rights till the time this government remains. What hopes could we have from someone who is in an unconscious state," Yadav, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Bihar Legislative Assembly, said.
Charging the Bihar government for "exploiting" workers, the former Bihar Deputy CM said that the government was unable to even pay minimum wage to women workers employed with Anganwadi and ASHA.
"When our government is formed, we will work to get justice for all of them," Yadav told ANI.
"This government is exploiting women, cooks, self-help groups, Anganwadi, ASHA sisters. They are doing injustice to them. Only Rs 1,600 per month. What will this do for them in this era of inflation? They are not even able to pay the minimum wage," he added.
The mid-day-meal workers association, including women workers, have been demonstrating against the state government to demand an increase in honorarium to Rs 15,000, as per the resolution passed by the General Administration Department (GAD). They are also demanding that cooks be given the status of government employees.
Meanwhile, the Bihar Home Guard Corps have been protesting against the state government to demand equal pay for equal work. The BPSC candidates have also been protesting to demand re-examination for the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission prelims.
Yadav has been targeting the CM over various issues over the past few days. On Thursday he said that the youth of Bihar no longer want a "75-year-old CM.
He also targeted the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar and call them an alliance of tired-retired leaders-officials. He claimed that the incumbent government in the state is ruining the present and future of the youth of Bihar. (ANI)
