Nizamabad (Telangana) [India], September 14 (ANI): After the Enforcement Directorate summoned Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha in connection to the Delhi Excise policy case, K Kavitha has said that it is clearly a politically motivated summon and we will take legal recourse.
BRS MLC K Kavitha while addressing the conference said, “From the beginning I have been saying the same thing, it is clearly a politically motivated summon. We will take legal recourse. It has been the modus operandi of the Bharatiya Janata Party in any poll-bound state, now Telangana is going to polls, they have started it here too.”
Kavitha also said that the people are watching the works led by BJP and they will teach them a lesson.
“We are a political party and we have a legal team. We will seek a legal advice. The people will see through this kind of operation by BJP and people will teach them a lesson. That is that I believe,” K Kavitha added.
According to the sources, along with BRC MLC Kavitha, more than a dozen people were also summoned who were involved in carrying out cash transactions in the scam.
Further, on being asked about the Congress and BJP, Kavitha said that we (BRS) are not anybody's B team but are Telangana peoples' and Indian peoples' A team.
"We have not met anyone. We have only met the people of Telangana and the country. The people of India have started supporting KCR. We are not anybody's B team. We are Telangana peoples' and Indian peoples' A team,” BRS MLC K Kavitha said.
Earlier, ED summoned Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao's daughter K Kavitha in March this year in connection with the probe into the Delhi liquor policy case.
The ED had summoned her earlier also to appear before it in the Delhi excise scam, alleging that she was a key member of the south cartel.
Kavitha, who is a member of the Telangana Legislative Council, was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the same case in December last year.
ED has so far filed five charge sheets in the case, including against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia. (ANI)
