Chhattisgarh's Kokawada village lightens up with hope

Sukma (Chhattisgarh), Feb. 12(ANI): Naxal-hit area of Kokawada village in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh has found a new hope as the area, which was earlier devoid of electricity, is now lit up, thanks to the effort of the state government.

Chhattisgarh's Kokawada village lightens up with hope
Sukma (Chhattisgarh), Feb. 12(ANI): Naxal-hit area of Kokawada village in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh has found a new hope as the area, which was earlier devoid of electricity, is now lit up, thanks to the effort of the state government. The ANI team visited the area, which is 12 kilometers away from Tongpal region in the district, and witnessed children studying under newly found reason for happiness. A local villager said that he got a TV in dowry five years back and that acted as a box only because of non availability of electricity. But now from dawn to dusk, his house is bustling with people as he is the only person who possesses television in the entire village. "The government provided the electricity one week back, earlier it was dark only. Now everybody flocks together in my house. Now, even children are able to study," he said. The state government has planned to electrify all villages and hamlets in the coming two-and-a-half years with an investment of about Rs. 4,000 crores. (ANI)
