Chhattisgarh CM condemns killing of CRPF personnel in IED blast

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], Oct 27 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Saturday condemned the killing of four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in a Naxal-orchestrated blast in poll-bound Chhattisgarh's Bijapur area.

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], Oct 27 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Saturday condemned the killing of four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in a Naxal-orchestrated blast in poll-bound Chhattisgarh's Bijapur area.
Expressing grief over the incident, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the all four CRPF soldiers who lost their lives during the unfortunate attack. Singh also instructed concerned officials to provide better treatment to two jawans who sustained injuries during the unfortunate attack.
A few hours ago, four CRPF personnel lost their lives in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast by Naxals in Bijapur, while two jawans were injured in the blast.
The slain CRPF personnel included one Assistant Sub-Inspector, one head constable and two constables of the 168th battalion.
The blast took place near Murdanda camp of the CRPF under Awapalli police station when its the battalion was out on an operation.
Sharing details of the incident, P Sundar Raj, DIG (Anti-Naxal Operation) said, "The IED blast occurred in the Awapalli Police Station area of the Bijapur district. Unfortunately, four CRPF personnel lost their lives. 2 injured jawans have been sent for medical treatment."
Eighteen Naxal-affected constituencies will go to polls in the first phase on November 12, while the rest of the 72 constituencies would go to polls in the second phase on November 20. Counting of votes will be done on December 11. (ANI)
