Chhattisgarh CM buys pen making cashless payment to kick start digital economy drive
Balrampur (Chhattisgarh) [India], Dec. 11 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Sunday laid foundation stone for internet connection in several villages across the state. Under the project, five new wifi hotspots will be installed in areas like Budha Bagicha of Surguja district and other villages in Balrampur district. Singh assured people that his government will provide Rs 50 crores for development-related works in Naxal-hit village in Datnewada district to make it the "first cashless village". He also launched start-up scheme to promote a start-up culture for start-up entrepreneurs in the state. The Chief Minister also bought a pen at a general store in Balrampur by making cashless payment through a Point of sale Machine (PoS) that kick started the going cashless campaign. Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the CM's efforts to scale new heights in development. He appealed to the public to avail the benefits of these digital services. While talking to the 'Sarpanch' of Budha Bagicha, Singh said the project will help in the development of the village as well as make it convenient to buy even small goods and articles. This will also solve the hassle of carrying cash. The event was attended by many other leaders and dignitaries. (ANI)
