Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India], October 17 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha workers on Wednesday created chaos in the "Samvidhan Bachao Maharashtra Bachao" program. The program was organised by Shyam Manav, Founder-National Convenor of Akhil Bharatiya Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha members began to demonstrate at Dashrath Madavi's remarks during the program when he said that the Constitution was in danger after 2014. Angry workers raised their hands in sloganeering and questioned how the Constitution could possibly be at jeopardy only after 2014.
Dashrath Madavi continued to speak in spite of the agitation while party members from the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha raised signs and marched off stage to interrupt him. Workers caused havoc, tore banners, and raised chants. Meanwhile, Police arrived on the scene to take control of the situation in the interim. The BJYM protesting members were arrested.
This event comes just weeks before the Maharashtra Assembly elections, scheduled for November 20, with vote counting set for November 23.In the 2019, Maharashtra Assembly polls, the Congress and unified Shiv Sena had won 154 out of 288 seats as part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition.
The key contenders in the Maharashtra elections are the ruling Mahayuti Alliance, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, comprising the Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress.
However, this time around the Shiv Sena (UBT), Sharad Pawar's NCP and Congress are in alliance to counter the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance. In the Lok Sabha election held this year, MVA won 30 of the state's 48 Lok Sabha seats. The ruling alliance won 17. One seat went to an Independent candidate. (ANI)
