Channapatna (Karnataka) [India], October 31 (ANI): Nikhil Kumaraswamy, NDA candidate for Channapatna bypoll in Karnataka shared his disappointment over recent electoral losses on Thursday, attributing them to alleged conspiracies by the Congress in the districts of Mandya and Ramanagar.
During an emotionally charged campaign rally, Nikhil said "The setbacks we faced were not due to a lack of support from the people, but because of Congress's hidden conspiracies against us."
He reaffirmed his dedication to serving his people and emphasized his unwavering belief in democratic principles.
As Nikhil Kumaraswamy's voice filled with emotion, supporters rallied around him, shouting, "You should not cry; until and unless we are here, we will not allow defeat."
Demonstrating their unwavering loyalty, the crowd passionately declared, "We will never let the grandson of HD Devegowda be defeated in this land of Channapatna."
"Your victory is 100 per cent sure," the crowd chanted.
This heartfelt rally underscored the strong bond between Kumaraswamy and his constituents, reflecting the resilience and dedication of his supporters as they vowed to stand by him through the electoral challenges ahead.
On Wednesday, Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy accused the Congress party of attempting to manipulate voters by distributing gift coupons in Channapatna where by-poll will be held on November 13.
Speaking during his campaign in various villages of Channapatna, Kumaraswamy claimed that during the last assembly election, Congress allegedly distributed gift coupons worth Rs 3,000 and Rs 5,000 in constituencies like Ramanagara and Magadi.
"Voters were reportedly encouraged to redeem these coupons at Bengaluru's Lulu Mall, with promises that they could buy items of their choice," he said.
Union Minister's son, Nikhil Kumaraswamy is in electoral fray on the Channapatna seat against Congress candidate CP Yogeshwar.
Notably, HD Kumaraswamy (HDK) defeated Yogeeshwara in the 2018 and 2023 assembly polls from the seat. The seat fell vacant after HDK won from the Mandya parliamentary segment in the last Lok Sabha polls.
Voting for the first phase, covering 47 Assembly constituencies and the Wayanad parliamentary seat in Kerala will take place on November 13. The second phase will occur on November 20 for the Kedarnath Assembly constituency in Uttarakhand and the Nanded parliamentary seat in Maharashtra. The counting of votes will take place on November 23. (ANI)
