"Central govt, Home Ministry should take it seriously": Sharad Pawar after Farooq Abdullah demands investigation into Budgam terror attack

Baramati (Maharashtra) [India], November 2 (ANI): After National Conference Chief Farooq Abdullah demanded an investigation into Budgam terror attack, Nationalist Congress Party (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday suggested the central government and Home Ministry to take it seriously and try to resolve the issue.
"Farooq Abdullah is the tallest personality of the Jammu and Kashmir...He spent his life serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir. I have no doubt about his integrity and honesty. If such a leader is making any statement then the central government especially the Home Ministry should take it seriously and try to work out on how that situation can be resolved," Sharad Pawar said in Baramati on Saturday.
Earlier today, National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah demanded an investigation in Budgam terror attack and said that he had a doubt that it was carried out by the people who were trying to destabilise the government in Jammu and Kashmir.
"It should be investigated. How is it that the government has come and this is happening? I have a doubt that is it done by the people who were trying to destabilise the government...If they (terrorists) are caught then we will get to know who is doing this. They should not be killed, they should be caught and asked who is behind them...We should check if there is an agency who is trying to destabilise Omar Abdullah," Farooq Abdullah told ANI.
On being asked if Pakistan should be blamed every time for terrorist attacks in J-K including the recent Budgam terror attack, Abdullah said, "There is no question of this, I would say that there should be an investigation into this. They should not be killed, they should be caught and asked who is behind them...We should check if there is an agency that is trying to destabilise Omar Abdullah."
On Friday, terrorists fired upon two non-locals in Mazhama, in the Magam area of Budgam district. After the incident security forces cordoned off the whole area to nab the attackers.
"Terrorists fired upon two non-locals in Mazhama, in the Magam area of Budgam district. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, where their condition is said to be stable. The whole area was cordoned off by the security forces to nab the attackers," Official sources said.
Earlier today, two terrorists were killed by security forces during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district, officials said.
This came hours after a similar encounter broke out in Srinagar's Khanyar area. Earlier in the morning, an encounter broke out in Srinagar's Khaynar area during a cordon and search operation by a joint team of police and security forces.
Search Operations also continue in the Panar area of Bandipora. On November 1 late evening suspicious movement was spotted in the general area of Panar in Bandipora, by alert troops. On being challenged, terrorists opened indiscriminate fire and escaped into the jungle.
In another incident on Friday, terrorists fired upon two non-locals in Mazhama, in the Magam area of Budgam district. After the incident security forces cordoned off the whole area to nab the attackers.
On October 29, the security forces neutralised three terrorists in a high-stakes encounter in Akhnoor, Jammu and Kashmir, following an attack on an Army convoy.
On October 20, a doctor and six construction workers were killed when terrorists attacked a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway in the Ganderbal district. (ANI)
