Celebrations in Kaithal as Aditya Surjewala wins with a margin of 8124 votes

Despite the Indian National Congress trailing behind BJP in the Haryana elections, Congress leader Aditya Surjewala won Kaithal assembly seat by 83744 votes. His supporters celebrate at his residence as he leads over BJP's Leela Ram in the constituency.

Kaithal (Haryana) [India], October 8 (ANI): Despite the Indian National Congress trailing behind BJP in the haryana-election">Haryana elections, Congress leader Aditya Surjewala won Kaithal assembly seat by 8124 votes. His supporters celebrated at his residence as he leads over BJP's Leela Ram in the constituency.
Surjewala who will now be the third generation from his family to represent Kaithal then took out a road show in the city.
Earlier, Aditya Surjewala emphasized his commitment to combating hooliganism and hatred and urged people to vote for Congress.
"I have wished for prosperity for the people of Kaithal. The development work that has stopped in the assembly seat, I wish to divert it into a path of progress. So many students are moving out of Kaithal for their future, I wish to change this. Our fight is against hooliganism, hatred that has been spread here. I am contesting elections for the development of Kaithal and we will bring development here. My family has been associated with Kaithal for more than 20 years. I have a strong bond here. I will appeal to people to vote for Congress for justice and development." he said.
He further said, "In BJP, they have to search for CM candidate but in Congress, there are already many contestants. The leaders are decided by their hard work in Congress. In the BJP, the CM candidate is like a puppet of PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah."
Meanwhile, Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat on Tuesday emerged victorious in Julana Assambly Constituency in Haryana as she defeated Bharitya Janta Party (BJP) candidate Yogesh Kumar as per the Election Commission of India. The former wrestler defeated her rival with a margin of 5761 votes.
As BJP edged towards a hat-trick in the Haryana assembly, the Congress has voiced concerns about discrepancies in the vote count data shown by the Election Commission. (ANI)
