CBI arrests one accused in Vyapam scam
New Delhi [India], Apr 20 (ANI): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday arrested an accused in cases related to the Vyapam scam on the basis of Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) issued by the Court of Special Magistrate of Gwalior. Earlier on March 28, the CBI had filed a supplementary chargesheet against three accused in connection with the Vyapam scam cases. The CBI had registered the case against the accused in December 2015 on the orders of the Supreme Court and took over the investigation registered earlier at Gwalior's Kampu Police Station. It was alleged that the accused entered into a criminal conspiracy for cheating, forgery and impersonated in Forest Guard Exam 2013 conducted by Vyapam. The CBI investigation revealed that the candidate took the alleged assistance of middlemen for arranging a solver to appear for him in the said examination. The middlemen arranged one solver for the written examination of Forest Guard Exam 2013. The expert opinion of CFSL on specimen writing and signature available had proved that the original candidate did not appear in the examination and the solver allegedly appeared in his place in the said examination. All the three accused were present at the time of filing the chargesheet. The court had earlier cancelled the bail given to them and took the three accused into judicial custody. They were later sent to the Central Jail in Gwalior. (ANI)
