New Delhi [India], Dec. 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday asserted that cashless transactions in the country had gone up by 200-300 percent post demonetisation. "Today there is curiosity among the people as to how can one go cashless. People want to learn from each other. In the last few days, cashless transactions across the country have increased by 200-300 percent," Prime Minister Modi said in his 'Mann Ki Baat' programme. He said awareness towards online payments and using technology for economic transactions is increasing. Congratulating the Assam Government for embracing cashless transactions, Prime Minister Modi said, "I congratulate the Assam Government in particular for taking initiatives to promote cashless economy." Prime Minister Modi further said that 30 crore people in the country have RuPay cards, out of which 20 crore belong to poor families with Jan Dhan accounts. (ANI)
