Cabinet Secretary P. K. Sinha gets one year extension

New Delhi [India], Apr 24 (ANI): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Monday approved extension in service to Pradeep Kumar Sinha, IAS (UP:1977) as Cabinet Secretary for a further period of one year beyond June 12.

Cabinet Secretary P. K. Sinha gets one year extension
New Delhi [India], Apr 24 (ANI): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Monday approved extension in service to Pradeep Kumar Sinha, IAS (UP:1977) as Cabinet Secretary for a further period of one year beyond June 12. Sixty one-year-old Sinha was in May 2015 named the Cabinet Secretary for a fixed two-year term. He took over the new assignment from June 13. Before his appointment to the post, he was serving as Power Secretary. Sinha, a 1977 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, had succeeded Ajit Seth who held the position for four years. He has earlier served as the shipping secretary and has also held several other important positions in the union government and in his cadre state Uttar Pradesh. Sinha is the 31st Cabinet Secretary of India. Mr. Sinha is an economics graduate from St. Stephen's College, Delhi and holds a master's degree in economics from the Delhi School of Economics. He holds a M. Phil degree as well.(ANI)
