Cabinet removes Richardson & Cruddas Ltd.from BIFR purview

Amid rising tensions in the Garo Hills region, Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday announced that the state cabinet will convene on Thursday to deliberate on the future course of action following the Government's decision to postpone the elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).

"Strongly condemn the shocking firing incident on former CM Farooq Abdullah sb & other senior leaders reported in Jammu today. Such acts of violence are deeply disturbing and raise serious concerns about the prevailing security scenario in the region," Karra posted on X.

"Allah is kind. My father had a very close shave. The details are sketchy at the moment but what is known is that a man with a loaded pistol was asked to get within range to discharge shot. It was only the close protection team that deflected the shot & ensured that the assassination attempt was foiled. There are more questions than answers at the moment including but not limited to how someone was able to get this close to a Z+ NSG protected former CM," Omar Abdullah posted on X.

The Enforcement wing of CAF & Civil Supplies Department is conducting widespread search and seizure operations to crack down on the illegal commercial diversion and pilferage of domestic LPG cylinders, an official statement said.

Domestic LPG production has increased by about 25 percent and the entire domestic LPG production is being directed towards household consumers, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas said on Wednesday.
