BSF confirms stone pelting at Wagah border, says issue flagged with Pak
New Delhi [India], Oct.4 (ANI): The Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday confirmed that there was a stone pelting incident near the Wagah border during the beating retreat ceremony held on October 2. Addressing the media here, BSF Director General K.K.Sharma said a flag meet was held with their Pakistani counterparts following the incident during which they raised this issue. Reacting to the recent ceasefire violations from the other side of the border post the surgical strike, Sharma said, "Yes, there is tension at the International Border but no exchange of fire has taken place yet." He also said that the BSF never gave orders for evacuation of villagers living along the International Border in the aftermath of surgical strike. According to reports, the people seated on the Pakistani side raised anti-India slogans at least for ten minutes. Some BSF officials also said that stones were thrown from the Pakistani side at the beginning of the retreat ceremony. The relations between India and Pakistan have been on rise ever since the Uri attack took place and the subsequent surgical strike conducted across the Line of Control (LoC). (ANI)
