Gadwal (Telangana) [India], November 27 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday launched an attack on Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and alleged that BRS has illegally occupied Masjid lands and occupied the land of waqf board with the help of All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).
"BRS has illegally occupied Masjid lands and joining hands with AIMIM they have grabbed waqf board lands," Priyanka Gandhi alleged in Telangana's Gadwal.
She further said that the BRS government harassed the saree-maker and they never helped the saree-makers of the state.
"The state government never helped and fulfilled the promises they made but Congress will fulfill all your dreams," she added.
"BRS and BJP only want to be in power and increase their wealth. They start poll management just before the elections. But you all have to show them that the people of Telangana will not surrender for money and they will fight for their rights as they have been doing it," she added.
Appealing to people to vote for the Congress, she listed out the "six guarantees" announced by the party for the November 30 assembly polls.
Earlier in the day, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slammed the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) government in Telangana led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and guaranteed to give 2 lakh government jobs in one year if the Congress comes to power.
Further posing it as another guarantee, Rahul Gandhi said "The future of our youth is secure in the hands of Congress' Prajala Sarkar - this is my Guarantee!"
All major political parties in the state, including Congress, BJP and BRS, have stepped up their campaigning processes with the last date of campaigning on Tuesday before the state goes to polls on November 30. The counting of the votes will take place on December 3.
In the last Assembly elections in 2018, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), previously known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), won 88 of the 119 seats, hogging 47.4 per cent of the total vote share.
The Congress came in a distant second with just 19 seats, while the BJP drew a blank. (ANI)
