New Delhi [India], Mar 24 (ANI): BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra on Sunday slammed Congress president Rahul Gandhi over the rise in his income rise between 2004 and 2014.
"In 2004, Rahul Gandhi had assets worth Rs 50-55 lakh. In 2009 it is increased to over Rs 2 crore. In 2014 it is further increased to Rs 9 crore. Rahul Gandhi’s only source of income is that he is an MP. How do his assets increase exponentially then," he asked.
Patra said: "This family does not do anything but still they manage to collect crores of rupees. We will soon reveal this. In the election affidavit, Rahul Gandhi has mentioned that he gets Rs 9 lakh as rent from Indira Gandhi farmhouse situated in Mehrauli but in reality, they get crores."
The BJP has also levelled allegations against his sister and the eastern UP general secretary of Congress Priyanka Gandhi.
Talking to media persons, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday said: "Rahul and Priyanka own a 4.5-acre farmhouse which they had rented to Financial Technologies of India, the same company which was issued show cause notice in the case related to the National Spot Exchange Limited."
"NSEL was promoted by Financial Technologies of India. FTIL issued an interest-free cheque of Rs 40 lakh."
Prasad also asked Rahul: “Have you purchased two properties from Unitech?” He claimed that Unitech was involved in the so-called 2G scam. (ANI)
