New Delhi [India], February 1 (ANI): Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi on Saturday came out heavily against the Bharatiya Janata Party accusing it of "making religions fight with each other" with their politics.
The Wayanad MP took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said he blames everything on Jawaharlal Nehru.
"Politics which makes people fight with each other works only for self-interest. BJP's politics has always been this since its inception: to make religions fight with each other. Who does this benefit? Poor don't get benefited from this. Only these leaders get the benefit. 80 per cent of Prime Minister Modi's speech ends in criticising others. He blames everything on Jawaharlal Nehru," Priyanka Gandhi said while addressing a rally in Chandni Chowk on Saturday.
Further attacking Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, she said that Kejriwal had accused former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit of "corruption" while her focus was on the development and strengthening of infrastructure in the national capital.
"It is very clear what work Sheila Dikshit has done in Delhi. She built roads, and flyovers and strengthened the infrastructure. She got drinking water in Delhi and got work done including cleaning sewers. She was focused on development. Arvind Kejriwal accused her of corruption but none of the allegations were proven," she added.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also lashed out at Kejriwal saying that the people of Delhi will "wipe out" AAP from the national capital on election result day, while further claiming there is a "huge wave" against the party in Delhi.
Labelling the AAP government in Delhi as "3G sakraar", Shah said, "Government running in Delhi is 3G - 'Ghotale wali Sarkar', 'Ghuspaithiyon ko panah dene wali Sarkar' and 'Ghaple karne wali Sarkar'."
Referring to former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia contesting from Jangpura instead of his previous seat of Patparganj, Shah said that AAP was "aware of their impending loss". Of 52 AAP MLAs, nearly 26 MLAs who were not given tickets also believed that they were losing the elections, he added.
The Delhi Assembly elections will take place in a single phase on February 5, with the vote counting scheduled for February 8. (ANI)
