New Delhi [India], October 22 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday took a dig at the INDIA alliance and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance over the seat share troubles in Jharkhand and Maharashtra, respectively. He said that the political families in these MVA and INDIA only want to come to power, asserting that Congress can't walk together with its allies.
Naqvi further attacked the Congress and said that the opposition party didn't give importance to small and regional parties. He suggested that Congress should learn from BJP and Narendra Modi in handling the allies.
While speaking on the seat-sharing tussle of INDIA Alliance in Jharkhand and MVA in Maharashtra, Naqvi said, "Be it Jharkhand or Maharashtra, there is more of 'siyasi khurpench' than 'seats ka pench'. Be it Aghadi or alliance, their 'khaandani khiladi' have the same aspiration - to come into power. Today, whichever alliance will be led by Congress party will have 'pench' as well as 'khurpench' because Congress has no DNA or mindset to walk ahead together with all allies. Congress thinks that small parties and regional parties have no importance. They should learn from the BJP and Narendra Modi."
Meanwhile, Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat met Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar today ahead of the MVA's meeting to discuss seat sharing for the upcoming elections in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut informed that Thorat met Pawar in Delhi and will visit Matoshree in Mumbai to meet Uddhav Thackeray.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) had earlier announced that elections in Maharashtra are to be held on November 20 and the counting for all 288 assembly constituencies will be held on November 23.
In the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, while Shiv Sena won 56 seats and the Congress won 44 seats. In 2014, the BJP won 122 seats, while Shiv Sena won 63 and Congress left its mark on 42 seats.
