Saraipali (Chhattisgarh) [India], September 2 (ANI): Launching an attack on the Chhattisgarh government, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will save you from the "corrupt" Bhupesh Baghel government.
"Today Rahul Baba is here and will speak something and go. Rahul Baba, what have you given the brothers and sisters of tribals? Your Congress's corrupt government (in Chhattisgarh) and Parivarvadi Sarkar do not let PM Modi work for tribals. I am here to tell you that we (BJP) will save Chhattisgarh from the corrupt Bhupesh Baghel government," Amit Shah said at an event in Saraipali.
He further said that no one should vote for this government (Bhupesh Baghel government) that does the Rice scam.
"Uproot the government that steals rice of the Tribal...No one should vote for this government (Bhupesh Baghel-government) that do Rice scam. Bhupesh Baghel wants to make Chhattisgarh ATM of Congress, but we will not let this happen. We will do development in the state," Shah said.
Shah further said that earlier, tribals used to get a 20 per cent reservation, but Raman Singh's government worked to increase the reservation to 32 per cent.
"Rahul Gandhi should tell what his government has given to the tribal community. We have made Chhattisgarh, we have beautified Chhattisgarh and will save it also," he added.
Earlier in the day, BJP unveiled 'Aarop Patra' (list of charges) against the Chhattisgarh government in the state capital, Raipur, the Union Home Minister said, "The upcoming state assembly elections are not just about a change of regime but it is also about securing the future of Chhattisgarh. The people have to decide if they want to give another term to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's corrupt government or vote for a development-oriented government by the BJP in the state. Dilli ka Darbaar (oblique reference to the Gandhi family) can do nothing good for Chhattisgarh. It is only the BJP, which can save the state from corruption," Shah said.
"If voted to power, the BJP will put the state on the path of development and progress. We have unveiled the 'Aarop Patra' today to make the people aware of the corruption and scams that happened under the Congress government. Since 2018, when they (Congress) came to power, they have done nothing other than looting the state and the people," Shah added.
The BJP, in its 'Aarop Patra,' alleged that the Congress government encouraged Naxalism in the state and got BJP workers killed.
The 'Aarop Patra' also accused the ruling party of giving "leeway to criminals for its own political benefits".
The Chhattisgarh Assembly polls are scheduled to be held later this year. (ANI)
