Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], March 23 (ANI): Several Congress leaders on Saturday said that the six Congress rebels and three independents who joined the BJP in Delhi betrayed the party due to selfishness.
AYUSH and Sports Minister Yadvendra Goma in the Congress government, CPS Sanjay Awasthi, and Congress MLA Sanjay Ratan from Jwalamukhi said in a joint press conference at the Congress State headquarters in Shimla that the Congress government is in the majority in the state and will serve the people for 5 years.
"BJP will not succeed in toppling the Himachal Pradesh government," the leaders added.
Addressing the media in Shimla, Yadvendra Goma said that the BJP has created an atmosphere of instability for the last month, and now six rebels have joined the BJP. He said that if the BJP had worked in the five years of its tenure, Congress would not have gotten 40 seats. "The BJP has taken advantage of Congress' infighting. Everyone has some expectations, but the party has given them respect," he added.
The Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Sanjay Awasthi, said that the Central Government has tried to destabilise the non-BJP governments in the entire country, and unsuccessful attempts are being made in the state as well.
He said, "The Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has worked in the interest of the state. Rebel MLAs have made baseless allegations against him. He has taken such steps due to personal interests. The CM has fulfilled five out of ten guarantees, and major work is also being done. He said that our government is strong and will last for five years.
Both Sanjay Rattan and Yadvinder Goma have clarified that they will never join the BJP. (ANI)
