Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 8 (ANI): Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Chandra Pawar) leader Clyde Crasto on Saturday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using central agencies like the Income Tax Department, CBI, and ED to target opposition leaders with allegations of corruption.
"In the last couple of years, BJP has used the 'I.C.E' (Income tax, CBI and ED) treatment on opposition... (BJP) accuse somebody of scams, and corruption take the same people in your party or make them your allies then give them a clean chit... Whenever people are speaking against the BJP accuse them put some kind of old case put pressure on them and when they join the BJP overnight they become clean... Once they come into government they will continue the same thing," NCP-SCP leader Clyde Crasto told ANI.
He also mentioned that if people did not vote for the BJP party today, it would mean that the mandate is against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as votes were sought in his name.
"BJP has been rejected and the NDA has been rejected by the people of India... Every time there was an election campaign the BJP was saying vote for Modi ji... so if today people have not voted for the BJP party that means the mandate is against Modi ji. Votes were asked in his name votes were not taken in his name so the mandate is against him," he told ANI.
Clyde Crasto emphasized the seriousness of the NEET result issue and called for a thorough investigation and punishment for those involved in malpractices.
"The NEET result issue is very serious this has to be taken very seriously investigation has to be done... never ever before has anybody got such high marks... there are 67 students who got 720 out of 720 last year only two of them got the surprising part is that seven students from the same centre in Haryana got 720 marks... We demand that a proper inquiry should be done and those who have been involved in malpractices should be punished," he said.
Many leaders including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi expressed apprehension about the conduct of the 2024 NEET exam.
Meanwhile, amid allegations of mark inflation the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday set up a committee to review the grace marks awarded to NEET UG 2024 candidates. (ANI)
