BJP urges security agencies to nab those conspiring against India
New Delhi [India], Oct. 30 (ANI): A day after the arrest of former personal assistant of Chaudhary Munawwar Saleem, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Satypal Singh said it is extremely unfortunate that a person working under the Samajwadi Party's Rajya Sabha MP has been nabbed for anti-national activities. He urged the intelligence agencies to catch hold of all people involved in the conspiracy against the nation irrespective of their position. "It is very unfortunate that one person working with the honourable MP has been arrested by our security agencies. And I am sure these media reports coming in could be very serious," he said. "I would also request the intelligence and security agencies to nab all those involved despite his or her stature," he added. Saleem's personal assistant was arrested yesterday on charges of stealing Parliament-related documents and selling them to Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI. Farhat Khan, the police said, was part of the espionage ring run by Pakistan High Commission staffer Mehmood Akhtar who has since returned to his country. Saleem denied any knowledge of his activities. The MP that said he would commit suicide along with his family if the probe agencies manage to find any evidence of Farhat's involvement in the espionage ring. As per the police, Farhat had been working with four MPs since 1996, some of whom were members of parliamentary committees. (ANI)
