BJP trying to gain political mileage from 'shameful' Bulandshahr incident: UP CM
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Aug. 4 (ANI): Dubbing the Bulandshahr gang-rape case as 'unfortunate' and 'shameful', Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was trying to gain political mileage from the incident. "There are other political parties, which are trying to gain political mileage out of it. Those who are sitting in rooms.what are they trying to make the victims understand? What are they trying to suggest? On behalf of my party, I can say it was a shameful incident. I don't want to comment about the incidents of other states," Yadav told the media here. Asserting that the officials were after receiving information, given strict orders to initiate action, Yadav said that no one would be spared. "The team has taken the full responsibility to give punishment to the accused. We would also appeal to the court to construct fast track courts so that the accused get punishment fast," he added. He said the rape incident, which took place in Bareilly few days ago, was linked with the Bulandshahr rape case as part of a 'political conspiracy'. "Ideological questions were raised with regard to the Bareilly incident. The political parties haven't done any work on ground or any development. If they want a CBI probe, I am ready for it. I am ready to help the victims. What conspiracies are the BJP leaders doing sitting in rooms? Won't you term it as political conspiracy?" he added. The three men arrested in connection with the Bulandshahr rape case have been sent to 14-day judicial custody. Four other accused are, however, still absconding. A 35-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter were allegedly gang-raped in Bulandshahr district earlier on July 29. The victims were on their way from Noida to Shahjahanpur with the other family members when their vehicle was stopped near a cycle repairing shop in Dostpur village on NH-9, which connects Noida and Bulandshahr.
