New Delhi [India], March 6 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) SC morcha will launch "Ghar Ghar Jodo" outreach programme on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14.
The 21-day programme will culminate on Buddha Jayanti on May 5.
For this programme, the BJP SC Morcha has formed an 11-member national committee. Similarly, State and district-wise committees are also being formed with 11 members each. The prime objective of the programme is to ensure all government welfare schemes are available to the Scheduled Caste society.
Speaking to ANI, BJP SC Morcha national president Lal Singh Arya said, "This is a service to the society. Under this campaign, we will work to make available all government welfare schemes to those who have not been able to get the benefit. We will undertake door-to-door campaigns in the colonies and slums to contact them and facilitate them filling out forms so that they get benefits from the schemes."
Arya said during the 21-day campaign, BJP SC Morcha will organise medical camps in every district. Further, a cleanliness campaign will also be held during the programme.
He said BJP SC Morcha's focus is to run various programmes in areas dominated by Scheduled Caste communities.
Asked about the Opposition's allegations that BjP ignores the SC and ST communities, Arya said the BJP government does not believe in making false promises but implements the policies on the ground.
"As far as the Opposition is concerned, the Congress or whatever the opposition party is, they have shown dreams to the Scheduled Castes, but they only remained dreams. They made promises which were never fulfilled. They never tried to ensure that the benefits of policies reach the SC communities," he said.
Arya further said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked at three levels, made Scheduled Castes self-reliant, launched schemes and ensured policies reach the beneficiaries.
"Congress government could have done this but they never did. They even have a government in the States. Congress never gives respect to the Scheduled Caste community. They never respected Babasaheb Ambedkar. Who gave Babasaheb Ambedkar the Bharat Ratna? Modi government started celebrating Constitution Day in 2015 to pay respect to Babasaheb," he added. (ANI)
