BJP shrugs off Dimple Yadav's attack on PM Modi, says SP not relevant anymore
New Delhi [India], Mar. 7 (ANI): Attacking Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav for her 'political mileage' remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said the Samajwadi Party leaders are fully aware that they have lost the Uttar Pradesh elections, which is why they are resorting to such statements just to stay in limelight. "Samajwadi Party leaders know that they have lost the assembly elections. So, how are they supposed to be relevant if they do not comment on the Prime Minister? Which explains their recent attack," BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain told ANI here. Expressing confidence about the BJP's fate in the polls, Hussain further noted that no matter how much the Akhilesh Yadav-led party tries, the people of Uttar Pradesh will give them an appropriate reply through their votes. Earlier on Monday, Dimple had hit out at the BJP-led government for deriving political mileage from the Army's accomplishments. "I am the daughter of an armyman. These people are taking mileage from the martyrdom of our soldiers. They are politicising the army...never seen such a government earlier," Dimple said while addressing a rally Bhadohi. She also targeted the Centre over the November 8th decision of demonetizing high-value currency notes saying they had made people run around for their own money. Meanwhile, the campaigning for the final phase of Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh ended yesterday and voting will be held on Wednesday. In Uttar Pradesh, 40 constituencies spread over seven districts will go for polls this seventh phase. The seven districts going to polls include Varanasi, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Sant Ravidas Nagar-Bhadohi, Sonebhadra and Jaunpur. The results will be announced on March 11. (ANI)
