BJP shrugs of Priyanka's debut, says shocker awaits Congress in Amethi, Rae Bareilly
Mumbai [India], Feb. 18 (ANI): Deeming Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's much-awaited debut in the campaign for the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh as inconsequential, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday warned the Congress of a shocker waiting for them in their stronghold constituencies- Amethi and Rae Bairelly. "Priyanka Gandhi can campaign wherever she wants if the people chose to listen, but the fact that they have not listened for so many years is testimony to the huge change on their home turf of Rae Bareilly and Amethi. A shocker lies for Congress in the two constituencies," BJP leader Shaina NC told ANI here. Earlier, Priyanka joined her brother and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Friday in attacking Prime Minister Narenda Modi for his claim of being the "adopted son" of the State. "UP doesn't need a leader from outside. All youth of the state can lead UP, build a new UP." Priyanka said. Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's promises to women of the state, she added, "I am a woman.Who has committed the most number of atrocities against women, poor. Wasn't making you stand in queues atrocities against women?" Priyanka also asserted that U.P. did not require an "outsider" to develop it, and conveyed to the Prime Minister that relationships were not built by just talk but they need fulfilling of promises as well. Priyanka attended the rally two-day days after BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani claimed the Congress leader was not campaigning as she had no answers to people's question in Uttar Pradesh.
