Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], March 3 (ANI): Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Sunday strongly criticized the opposition over the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case, stating that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should refrain from issuing negative statements as the government continues its investigation.
"We are continuing our investigation. Eight teams have been formed, and all are working in different directions, examining various aspects. We have collected several CCTV footage. We are exploring every angle, including any jealousy factor. I also appeal to the opposition to cooperate with us and not politicize this issue. We do not know if there is any connection with the Mangaluru blast. They have used similar material and the same technical system," he said.
"Yesterday NSG arrived here. We will find the person. We had a meeting yesterday and briefed the CM. Today, I have called a meeting of all the senior officers. BJP should not issue negative statements," he added.
As many as 10 people were injured after an explosion occurred at Bengaluru's popular Rameshwaram cafe in the Whitefield area on Friday.
Meanwhile, a team of Karnataka Police reached the explosion site on Sunday morning as part of its ongoing investigation.
This comes after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Saturday that the complete truth regarding the Rameshwara Cafe incident has to come out.
He instructed senior police officers to use technology effectively in investigations.
CM Siddaramaiah suggested providing protection to the people and directed officials to identify densely populated areas and increase police patrolling in such areas.
Meanwhile, the co-founder and CEO of Rameshwaram Cafe, Raghavendra Rao, urged both the Union government and the state government to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future and called for strict action.
"I request the Karnataka Government and the Government of India to ensure that this incident does not happen anywhere in India," Raghavendra told reporters, expressing solidarity with the injured people and staff.
