Haridwar (Uttarakhand) [India], August 26 (ANI): Launching a scathing attack against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress MP Imran Masood said that the BJP has distorted the law and order situation of the country and selectively runs bulldozer. He said that the Supreme Court must take suo moto cognisance of such incidents and the country must be run by keeping rules and regulations in consideration.
"The country can watch it. They have destroyed the future of youth and farmers. The law and order situation in the country has been distorted. They keep running bulldozers and do not care about the law and order. They selectively run the bulldozer. The Supreme Court must take suo moto cognisance of such incidents and the country must run on rules and regulations," said the Congress MP on Sunday.
Slamming the BJP over the upcoming state assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana, Masood said, "Why is the BJP worried about us setting an alliance with any party? We won't ask the BJP before doing it. BJP is fooling people in the name of Article 370. Have they re-established Kashmiri pandits? They should be ashamed that they used Kashmiri Pandits and gave them nothing. They will be defeated in the state assembly elections of Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir."
Notably, the National Conference and the Congress will contest the forthcoming assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir together and have formed an alliance. The formal announcement of the tie-up was made by NC patron Farooq Abdullah in Srinagar on Thursday.
The announcement was made after Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
The Congress and the NC had fought the Lok Sabha elections in alliance with each other. The National Conference won two seats - Anantnag and Srinagar. The Congress could not win any seat.
Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases on September 18, 25 and October 1. The results will be announced on October 4.
The Election Commission has issued notification for the first phase of assembly seats for 24 seats. This is the first assembly poll in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 (ANI).
