New Delhi [India], April 27 (ANI): As campaigning for the third phase gained momentum, Delhi Minister Gopal Rai claimed that the people of the national capital are "angry" with the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and said that the way BJP is worried about Aam Aadmi Party's 'prachar' (publicity) indicates that the "BJP is scared of AAP's campaigning."
Speaking to ANI amidst AAP's campaign, Gopal Rai said, "People of Delhi are angry with the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. I feel that the way BJP is looking worried by AAP's publicity indicates that the BJP is scared of AAP's campaigning."
"Mujhe lagta hai ki jis tarah BJP mai AAP ke prachar se "gabrahat" aur "bauklahat" dikh rahi hai, vo iss baat ka sanket de rahi hai aaj Aam Aadmi Party ke prachar se BJP ko darr lagne lagi hai," said the AAP leader.
Adding further, Rai said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) began their election campaign on Saturday with a road show spearheaded by AAP supremo and Delhi Chief Minister's wife Sunita Kejriwal.
"AAP has started the campaigning for the 3rd phase of elections from today onwards through a roadshow by Sunita Kejriwal," he said.
Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Atishi took a potshot at the BJP and said that "lakhs of Arvind Kejriwals" have hit the streets to campaign for him, demonstrating the love of Delhiites for the AAP supremo.
Speaking to ANI amidst the campaign, Atishi said, "BJP put Arvind Kejriwal in jail thinking that they can stop him from campaigning but now lakhs of Arvind Kejriwal have hit the streets for campaigning. This is the love of the people of Delhi."
The Delhi Minister resonated with the people in the campaign and said, "Today the people of Delhi have come out in such large numbers to bless Arvind Kejriwal Ji."
Atishi added that it is the love for the Delhi Chief Minister that has brought the people of Delhi out in such huge numbers.
Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita Kejriwal, who entered the political battleground with fiery speeches at the INDIA bloc's rallies last month held a mega roadshow in the national capital today in support of AAP's East Delhi candidate Kuldeep Kumar.
The AAP supremo's wife is gradually assuming a bigger role in the party to give a boost to the AAP's campaigning, which has been affected by the Chief Minister's arrest in March.
Sunita Kejriwal last month took part in the INDIA bloc's mega rallies in Delhi and Ranchi and has so far held three digital media briefings mainly focused on communicating Arvind Kejriwal's messages to the people.
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested last month by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged money laundering case linked to the liquor policy scam.
He remains the Chief Minister even after his arrest with the AAP asserting no law stops him from running the government from jail.
Sunita Kejriwal is a former Indian Revenue Services (IRS) officer who served in the income tax department for 22 years. (ANI)
