Danapur (Bihar) [India], September 1 (ANI): Former Bihar minister and expelled RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), saying that both organisations just "incite riots."
"The existence of the BJP and RSS has ended in a very bad way. Any person should avoid making comments on castes or religion," he said in Bihar's Danapur on Sunday.
He also hit out at Union Minister Giriraj Singh, calling him a "riot inciter."
"Giriraj Singh is a riot-inciter; they incite riots and promote violence. RSS, BJP's job is to incite riots," the former Bihar minister added.
Yadav's comments come after the Union minister's reported remark that "Masjids should not be used for politics" in Darbhanga.
Meanwhile, in Patna, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Tej Pratap's brother, Tejashwi Yadav, expressed concern over Bihar's lack of development, saying it pains him to see the state still lagging behind others in terms of growth and employment.
The RJD leader also urged that he should be given a chance to work for Bihar's progress.
"I am a Bihari. It pains me that Bihar is not among the top states. Why are there no factories, no industries, and no businesses here? Why is Bihar the poorest? Why is unemployment the highest here? I just want a chance to work towards taking Bihar forward," he said while addressing the public at an event in Patna.
Taking aim at the BJP, Yadav accused the ruling party of sidelining democratic values and running the organisation in a family-centric manner. The high-stakes Bihar assembly elections are expected later this year, although the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not announced an official date. (ANI)
